Who we are

Pro Safety and Risk Consultants (Pty) Ltd is an independent health and safety consulting firm based in Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa. In this notice, "we", "us", and "our" refer to Pro Safety and Risk Consultants (Pty) Ltd.

This notice explains how we process personal information in connection with this website, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

What this website collects

This website has no login, no shopping cart, and no form that submits data to our servers. The information involved is limited to the following.

Details you choose to send us

The enquiry builder on our contact page helps you compose a message. Everything you type stays in your own browser until you choose to send it. When you select WhatsApp or email, your device opens WhatsApp or your mail application with the message ready to send. Nothing reaches us until you send it yourself.

When you do contact us, by that route or by phone, we receive whatever you have chosen to share: typically your name, company, contact details, and a description of your requirements.

Technical information

Like most websites, our hosting provider records standard server logs when a page is requested. These may include your IP address, the page requested, the time of the request, and your browser type. They are used to keep the site running securely and reliably.

Analytics

We may use Google Analytics to understand which pages are useful to visitors and where people arrive from. Analytics measurement is only active when it has been configured for the site. Where it is active, it records anonymous usage patterns, such as pages viewed and whether a visitor clicked a contact link, rather than identifying individuals.

You can opt out of Google Analytics using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or by using your browser's tracking-protection settings.

Third-party services

This website loads fonts from Google Fonts and photography from Unsplash. Requesting those files means your browser contacts those services directly, and they will see your IP address as part of serving the request. We do not share any other information with them.

Why we process your information

• To prepare quotations, proposals, and the documentation associated with an engagement
• To meet our own legal and professional record-keeping obligations
• To keep this website secure, available, and useful

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to an engagement are kept only as long as they remain useful for following up. Records connected to work we have carried out are retained for as long as required by the professional and legal obligations that apply to health and safety documentation, and are then deleted or destroyed.

Sharing

We do not share your personal information with third parties except where it is necessary to deliver the service you have engaged us for, or where we are required to do so by law, for example in response to a lawful request from a regulator or a court.

Some of the tools we rely on, such as our email provider, website host, and analytics provider, process information on our behalf. Where those providers are located outside South Africa, the information is transferred under the safeguards those providers make available.

Keeping it secure

This website is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection and applies a set of security headers, including a Content Security Policy, to reduce the risk of tampering and code injection. Access to enquiry correspondence is limited to the people who need it in order to respond to you.

No system can be guaranteed completely secure. If a compromise ever affected your personal information, we would notify you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.

Your rights under POPIA

You have the right to:

• Ask what personal information we hold about you
• Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate, misleading, or out of date
• Ask us to delete information we no longer have grounds to keep
• Object to how we are processing your information
• Withdraw consent, where our processing relies on your consent
• Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa

We may update this notice as our services or the tools behind this website change. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last revised.
